Engine Mercedes M254

First released in 2020, Mercedes M254 engines with 1.5 and 2.0 liter capacities are characterized by an ISG starter generator and plasma-sprayed cast iron coated with Nanoslide. These power units are currently limited to the fifth generation of the well-liked C-Class model.

Disadvantages of the Mercedes M254 engine

Every unit in the modular series avoids using low-octane gasoline out of fear of detonation.
The Camtronic system is still regarded as a flaw in this series’ engine design.
