From 2010 to 2019, AMG modified the CLS-Class, E-Class, ML-Class, GL-Class, and S-Class models with the 5.5-liter bi-turbo Mercedes M157 engine, which was manufactured in Germany. The M152 index and cylinder deactivation system are features of an atmospheric version of the engine.
M113 E43, M113 E50, M113 E55, M119 E42, M119 E50, M119 E60, M156, M157, M177, M273, and M278 are all members of the V8-family.

Disadvantages of the M157 DE55 engine
The resource of this unit is dependent on the level of forcing and is frequently adjusted.
It is prone to scuffing, just like nearly all motors with an aluminum coating.
Oil pump gear wear is frequently the cause of this issue as well.
A short-lived timing chain, particularly tensioners, is a major source of trouble here.
The engine’s delicate piezoceramic nozzles are one of its weak points.
