The OM 326 is an OHV diesel engine with six cylinders, four strokes, pre-chamber, water cooling, and no turbocharging.

Like all OM 300 series engines, the cylinders are arranged in a line. The 10.8-liter engine produces 200 horsepower (147 kW). Depending on the modification, the engine weighs between 770 and 780 kg. It is primarily utilized on Mercedes-Benz O 317 trucks.
The newly created OM 400 series started to replace the engines around 1970, but production didn’t end until 1978.
