Several of the company’s most well-known models, including the Astra, Vectra, and Zafira, were equipped with the 2.0-liter diesel Opel X20DTL or LD3, which was manufactured between 1996 and 2000. A Bosch VP-44 fuel pump was installed in this internally developed power unit.

The X17DTL, X20DTH, and X22DTH engines are also part of the X family.
The engine was mounted on:
- Opel Astra G (T98) in 1998 – 2000;
- Opel Vectra B (J96) in 1996 – 2000;
- Opel Zafira A (T98) in 1999 – 2000.

Disadvantages of the X20DTL engine
The Bosch VP44 fuel pump is the primary cause of powertrain issues.
The fuel valve control transistor is this injection pump’s weak point;
You can just air the system if the fuel filter is replaced incorrectly;
The oil gets into the diesel fuel because the rubber gaskets beneath the nozzles are drying out;
Additionally, the particulate filter is clogged and the EGR valve is frequently overgrown with soot.
