Engine Renault M5R

The second generation Koleos crossover and several Korean models, including the SM6 and QM6, are equipped with the 2.0-liter 16-valve Renault M5R engine, which has been manufactured at the company’s factory since 2016. This direct fuel injection power unit is a replica of the Nissan MR20DD engine.

Disadvantages of the Renault M5R engine

It has carbon buildup on the intake valves, just like all direct injection engines.
The timing chain’s resource is short; occasionally, a 150,000-kilometer replacement is required.
Oil burners typically appear when oil scraper rings are on the same run.
Additionally, you must exercise caution when tightening the candles because the cylinder head is prone to cracking.
