From 1992 until 1999, the company produced the 2.0-liter Volkswagen ADY 8v engine, which was fitted to well-known models like the third Golf and the fourth Passat. But Seat’s Sharan minivan, or its equivalent, is what made this motor most famous.

The models in the EA827 2.0l series are 2E, AAD, AAE, ABT, ABK, ADY, AGG, ABF, and ACE.

Disadvantages of the VW ADY engine
Owners are rarely concerned about a basic and reasonably dependable power unit;
The majority of these malfunctions are caused by ignition system component failures.
Electrically speaking, the idle speed controller, coolant temperature sensor, and crankshaft position sensor are frequently defective;
The timing belt can bend the valves if it breaks, as it is intended to last about 90,000 kilometers;
An oil burn frequently starts after 250–300 thousand kilometers because of the rings.
