The 1.5-liter Geely MR479QA gasoline engine, which was manufactured in China between 2000 and 2016 and fitted on several local models, is only known overseas by MK and MK Cross. This motor, designated LF479Q2, was installed on the Lifan and was a clone of the Toyota 5A-FE unit.

Disadvantages of the Geely MR479QA engine
This is a very dependable unit by design, but the build quality frequently lets it down;
Here, sensors, attachments, and parts of the ignition system are not very useful;
On a run of less than 50,000 kilometers, the timing belt frequently breaks, but the valves do not bend here;
Valve stem seals may wear out and an oil burner may appear closer to 100,000 kilometers;
Remember to adjust the valves because there are no hydraulic lifters available.
