From 2010 to 2017, the entire second-generation Mini lineup, from the Clubman R55 to the Paceman R61, was equipped with the 2.0-liter Mini Cooper SD N47C20A diesel engine. This power unit was essentially a BMW diesel engine from the N47 series.

W17D14, W16D16, N47C16A, N47C20A, B37C15A, and B47C20A are MINI diesel engines.

Disadvantages of the Mini N47C20A engine
The crankshaft damper pulley typically needs to be replaced at roughly the same mileage; antifreeze leaks frequently occur through cracked seals in the cooling system; the timing chain is a modest resource here, sometimes stretching to 100,000 km;
As usual, a lot of issues are brought on by particulate filter and EGR valve contamination; the swirl flaps of the intake manifold coke very quickly and wedge.
