Engine Mini B48A20A

Third-generation Mini vehicles, such as the Clubman F54 and the Countryman F60, are equipped with the Mini Cooper S B48A20A 2.0-liter turbo engine, which has been manufactured at the company’s facility since 2014. This unit’s modification for the US market in accordance with ULEV II environmental standards has its own index, B46A20A.

Disadvantages of the Mini B48A20A engine

Up until 2017, engines’ timing chains stretched rapidly before the design was altered; idle speed frequently floats as a result of a tank ventilation valve failure;
After 100,000 kilometers, oil consumption and tan valve stem seals are common; at high mileage, Vanos phase regulators and the Valvetronic system fail.
