From 2002 to 2019, the Renault V4Y 3.5-liter V6 engine was manufactured in Japanese factories and fitted to well-known models like the Samsung SM7, Laguna Coupe, Espace, and Vel Satis. This kind of power unit is a natural variation of the Nissan VQ35DE engine.

B4A, B4D, H4D, H4M, M4R, M5R, 2TR, V4U, and V4Y are the SCe line.

Disadvantages of the Renault V4Y engine
Faulty spark plugs or poor fuel are not acceptable for this unit.
This leads to the destruction of catalysts and the entry of their crumbs into the engine cylinders.
The oil channel gaskets beneath the front cover are another area of weakness.
Due to its limited resources, the timing chain frequently needs to be replaced by 200,000 km.
It dislikes overheating, just like all aluminum motors, and this pump has a short lifespan.
