Disadvantages of the SsangYong D23DT engine
This pre-chamber diesel engine has an in-line Bosch high-pressure fuel pump and is dependable and long-lasting;
The cylinder head frequently cracks, so it’s important to keep an eye on the cooling system’s condition;
Here, saving oil shortens the lifespan of the fuel pump and hydraulic lifters; injector nozzles and glow plug wiring are additional weak points; the timing chain is pulled or the turbine frequently fails during extended runs.
