From 2002 to 2011, a Korean factory assembled the 1.6-liter gasoline engine Kia S6D, which was fitted to the Spectra, Shuma, and Carens models. Rio and Sephia models were fitted with a similar A6D. This power unit’s design is a replica of the well-known Mazda B6-DE engine.

A3E, A5D, BFD, S5D, A6D, S6D, T8D, FED, and FEE are engines made by Kia.

Disadvantages of the Kia S6D engine
The unit is dependable by design, but the quality of its parts frequently lets it down;
The valves bend when the timing belt breaks, which can happen even after 50,000 kilometers;
Cheap grease frequently causes hydraulic lifters to knock and the oil pump valve to wedge;
An oil burn typically starts after 200,000 kilometers as a result of ring or cap wear; the ignition system causes a lot of problems; candles, coils, and wiring don’t last very long.
