The Asian version of the Spectra model was equipped with a 1.5-liter 16-valve Kia S5D engine, which was manufactured in South Korea between 2000 and 2004. The original Rio also had an A5D. This motor was a cross between a Z5-DE block and a B5-DE head.

A3E, A5D, BFD, S5D, A6D, S6D, T8D, FED, and FEE are engines made by Kia.

Disadvantages of the Kia S5D engine
This motor is dependable, and a lot of issues are related to component quality;
Keep an eye on the timing belt’s condition; it runs a little and the valves bend when it breaks;
Oil savings frequently result in the oil pump’s reducing valve wedge;
Butter frequently develops after 200,000 kilometers as a result of ring and cap wear;
A short-lived ignition coil and its wiring are among the engine’s weak points.
