Produced since 2018, the 1.5-liter Peugeot DV5RE, YHW, or 1.5 BlueHDi 75 engine powers the company’s well-known commercial models, including the Rifter, Berlingo, and Combo. This motor, which is the weakest in the family, has a traditional turbine with fixed geometry.

DV5TED4, DV5RC, DV5RD, and DV5RE are additional diesels in the DV5 family.
The engine was mounted on:
- Citroen Berlingo III (K9) since 2018;
- Opel Combo E (X19) in 2018 – 2019;
- Peugeot Rifter I (K9) since 2018.

Disadvantages of the DV5RE engine
Since this diesel engine is so new, not enough is known about its shortcomings.
Owners have so far primarily complained about the EGR valve’s quick contamination.
Bad diesel fuel and infrequent filter replacements are intolerable to fuel equipment.
Keep an eye on the timing belt’s condition because a major overhaul is in store if it breaks.
This unit requires an AdBlue charge, just like the rest of the BlueHDi series.
