From 2015 to 2019, the company manufactured the 2.0-liter Volvo D4204T8 diesel engine, which was fitted to mid-size vehicles like the S60, V60, or V40, including the Cross Country variant. Cars with the D2 index were fitted with this diesel engine, which had a single turbine.

D4204T8, D4204T11, D4204T14, and D4204T23 are Diesel Drive-E engines.
The engine was mounted on:

Disadvantages of the D4204T8 engine
Rubber pipes that burst frequently are the largest issue;
This usually relates to a single tube that connects to the turbocharger;
Oil leaks from oil seals or beneath the valve cover rank second in terms of mass;
There were recall campaigns for the intake manifold and diesel particulate filter. The timing belt is intended to last 120,000 kilometers; if it breaks, the valves bend.
