Disadvantages of the A17DTR engine
Above all, this diesel engine fears using subpar coolant;
Leaks start when antifreeze corrodes the heat exchanger gasket and nozzle sleeves;
On a run of 150–200 thousand kilometers, many owners were compelled to replace the turbine;
As always, a particulate filter and an EGR valve are necessary for routine maintenance;
Denso’s dependable but costly fuel system is the source of additional issues.
