From 1987 to 1996, a German plant produced the 2.0-liter Opel C20XE engine, which was fitted to charged versions of well-known vehicles like the Astra, Vectra, and Calibra. There are two versions of the power unit because it underwent a significant upgrade in 1993.

The engines C20NE, C20LET, C24NE, and C30SE are also part of the C20/30 line.
The engine was mounted on:
- Opel Astra F (T92) in 1991 – 1996;
- Opel Calibra A (C89) in 1989 – 1994;
- Opel Kadett E (T85) in 1988 – 1991;
- Opel Vectra A (J89) in 1988 – 1994.

Disadvantages of the C20XE engine
The cylinder head, which frequently cracks, is this motor’s most well-known weak point;
It is advised to replace with a more dependable cylinder head made by Cosworth;
Keep an eye on the timing belt’s condition; if it breaks after 50,000 kilometers, the valves will bend;
Many issues were caused by an unreliable ignition system prior to the 1993 update; hydraulic lifters dislike low-quality oil and begin to knock at 90,000 kilometers.
