The fourth generation Corsa and the comparable Chevrolet Aveo were equipped with the 1.2-liter 16-valve Opel A12XER or LDC engine, which was manufactured between 2009 and 2014 and mounted in the rear of the T300. A12XEL, also known as LWD, was a derated version of this motor that could produce up to 69 horsepower.

A14XER, A14NET, A16XER, A16LET, A16XHT, and A18XER are all part of the A10 line.
The engine was mounted on:
- Opel Corsa D (S07) in 2009 – 2014;
- Chevrolet Aveo T300 in 2011 – 2014.

Disadvantages of the A12XER engine
The timing chain’s low resource—sometimes less than 100,000 km—is the engine’s primary issue;
Twinport dampers are very costly to repair if they break, despite their long lifespan;
Here, the ignition coils are integrated into a single, unreliable unit;
A malfunctioning antifreeze temperature sensor could cause a car to start poorly in the winter;
Both the front crankshaft oil seal and the valve cover are continuously leaking oil.
