Alongside the fourth generation of the popular Yaris model built on the GA-B or TNGA platform, the 1.5-liter Toyota M15A-FXE hybrid engine was introduced at the 2019 Auto Show. This motor is part of the Dynamic Force Engine 2.0 series, just like the A25A-FXS and M20A-FXS motors.

The engines A25A-FKS, A25A-FXS, M15A-FKS, M15A-FXE, M20A-FKS, M20A-FXS, and T24A-FTS are also part of the Dynamic Force family.
The engine was mounted on:
- Toyota Aqua 2 (XP210) since 2021;
- Toyota Yaris 4 (XP210) since 2019;
- Toyota Yaris Cross 1 (XP210) since 2020.

Disadvantages of the M15A-FXE engine
A 14.0 compression ratio suggests that fuel quality standards are rather high.
Only leaks in the EGR liquid cooler are the subject of complaints in specialized forums.
Antifreeze may even fall straight into the engine cylinders if this heat exchanger cracks.
The EGR valve frequently jams completely after 100,000 kilometers due to deposits.
