Engine Toyota 1NR-VE

Since 2015, the 1.3-liter Toyota 1NR-VE engine has been manufactured in Japan and is limited to small models available in Southeast Asian automotive markets. Every version of the engine has a Dual VVT-i variable valve timing system.

  • Perodua Bezza since 2016;
  • Perodua Myvi since 2017.

Disadvantages of the 1NR-VE engine

Only the oil burner and the motor’s loud operation are complained about on specialized forums;
Here, a water pump and ignition coils frequently malfunction.
