Only the base models of the Grandeur XG sedan were equipped with the Hyundai G6BP 2.0-liter V6 engine, which was manufactured in a Korean factory between 1998 and 2005 and then only in a few markets. This power unit’s horsepower was reduced from 148 to 137 during the switch to Euro 3 environmental standards.

The G6BA and G6BV engines are also part of the Delta family.
The engine was mounted on:
- Hyundai Grandeur 3 (XG) in 1998 – 2005.

Disadvantages of the Hyundai G6BP engine
The motor’s intake flaps have bolts that are unscrewed and fall into the cylinders; occasionally, the wedge of its hydraulic tensioner causes a timing belt jump.
The oil burner, which seems to be closer to 200,000 km, is the subject of numerous complaints;
Engine speed frequently floats as a result of throttle, idle speed controller, or injector contamination;
Such a unit’s hydraulic lifters and ignition system are its weak points.
