From 1998 to 2005, advanced versions of the well-known Sonata, Grandeur, or Magentis sedans were equipped with the 2.5-liter V6 Hyundai-Kia G6BV engine, which was manufactured in South Korea. This power unit is listed under a slightly different G6BW index in some sources.

The G6BA and G6BP engines are also part of the Delta family.
The engine was mounted on:
- Hyundai Grandeur 3 (XG) in 1998 – 2005;
- Hyundai Sonata 4 (EF) in 1998 – 2001;
- Kia Magentis 1 (GD) in 2000 – 2005.

Disadvantages of the Hyundai G6BV engine
The hydraulic tensioner’s wedge causes the timing belt to occasionally jump; the intake here has dampers, whose bolts are unscrewed and fall into the cylinders;
The oil burner has been the subject of numerous complaints, but only after 200,000 kilometers;
Contamination of the throttle, idle speed controller, or injectors is the primary cause of floating engine speeds.
High-voltage wires, hydraulic lifters, and sensors are weak points.
