Only the group’s smallest models—the i10, Eon, and Kia Picanto—have the 1.0-liter, three-cylinder Hyundai G3LA engine, which has been manufactured in South Korea since 2011. There is a gas version of this motor with the L3LA index and a biofuel version with the B3LA index.

G3LA, G3LB, G3LC, G3LD, G3LE, and G3LF make up the Kappa R3 family.
The engine was mounted on:
- Hyundai i10 1 (PA) in 2011 – 2013; i10 2 (IA) in 2013 – 2019; i10 3 (AC3) since 2019;
- Hyundai Eon 1 (HA) in 2011 – 2019;
- Kia Picanto 2 (TA) in 2011 – 2017; Picanto 3 (JA) since 2017;
- Kia Ray 1 (TAM) since 2011.

Disadvantages of the Hyundai G3LA engine
The primary issues with this unit are noise and vibrations, despite its high level of dependability;
Keep a close eye on the radiators’ cleanliness because the motor is terrified of overheating;
High temperatures cause gaskets to tan, and grease starts to seep out of all cracks;
The timing chain can reach 100–120 thousand kilometers for active drivers; short-lived engine mounts and the adsorber valve are additional weak points.
