Engine Ford HWDA

From 2003 to 2008, the 1.6-liter Ford HWDA or 1.6 Duratec Sigma engine was assembled in Wales and installed as the B4164S3 in the second-generation Focus, C-MAX, and Volvo. This unit’s closed cooling jacket set it apart from a comparable engine under the SHDA index.

Disadvantages of the HWDA engine

Duratec series power units are very dependable, but they cannot withstand poor fuel;
Candles made with cheap gasoline have a very long lifespan—sometimes up to 10,000 kilometers;
Here, an expensive gas pump frequently fails for the same reason;
The valve bends in European Duratec engine modifications when the timing belt breaks; hydraulic lifters are absent, and the valve needs to be adjusted every 100,000 kilometers.
