Engine Audi AAN

The 2.2-liter Audi AAN 2.2 turbocharged gasoline engine was manufactured at the factory between 1991 and 1997, and it was only fitted to the S4 or S6 sports versions of the 100 model. The Audi S2 car was equipped with this power unit under an entirely different ABY index.

Disadvantages of the Audi AAN engine

This turbo engine is prone to detonation; additionally, it frequently overheats; keep an eye on the radiators’ condition;
Numerous issues arise with the ignition system, particularly with coils and their tips;
Every 100,000 kilometers, the timing belt and chain are replaced; if they break, the valves will bend; the turbine and hydraulic lifters frequently malfunction on runs longer than 200,000 kilometers.
