Only the most basic A4 B8 modifications with a manual transmission were equipped with the 1.8-liter Audi CABA 1.8 TFSI engine, which was manufactured at the company’s factories between 2008 and 2009. This motor was only available for a year before the EA888 gen2 CDHA unit took its place.

Disadvantages of the Audi CABA engine
This motor’s timing chain has a very short lifespan—it occasionally lasts less than 100,000 kilometers;
Additionally, there were numerous instances of chain jumping following gear parking; the manifold’s swirl flaps and inlet valves quickly coke here;
Engine instability is primarily caused by increased coking;
The engine’s water pump, catalyst, and ignition coils are additional flaws.
