Many well-known concern models, including the Cruze, Orlando, and Malibu, were equipped with the 2.0-liter Chevrolet Z20D1 or LNP diesel engine, which was manufactured between 2010 and 2015. This power unit was modified to produce 131 horsepower and 315 Nm.

The Z series also includes engines: Z20S, Z20S1 and Z22D1.
The engine was installed on:

- Chevrolet Malibu 1 in 2011 – 2015;
- Chevrolet Orlando J309 in 2011 – 2014.

Disadvantages of the Z20D1 engine
The primary issues, as usual, are with fuel equipment and a particulate filter; the unit is sensitive to the quality of diesel fuel and frequently begins to mope after 100,000 kilometers;
There were instances of timing chain stretching and turbine failure during a 150,000-kilometer run.
