Engine Ford M1DA

The company has been producing the 1.0-liter Ford M1DA engine, also known as the 1.0 EcoBoost 125, since 2012. It is exclusively utilized on the third generation of the highly sought-after Focus model in all of its bodies. The Fiesta has a comparable power unit with its own index, M1JE or M1JH.

The M1JE and M2DA internal combustion engines are also part of the 1.0 EcoBoost line.

The engine was installed on:

  • Ford C-Max Mk2 in 2012 – 2019;

Disadvantages of the M1DA engine

The structurally intricate motor has high requirements for the oil’s quality;
Overheating brought on by a burst coolant hose is the primary issue;
Frequent fogging around the valve cover ranks second in popularity;
The water pump seal rapidly failed and leaked during the initial years of production;
Because there are no hydraulic compensators, valve clearances are controlled by the choice of glasses.
