From 2003 to 2008, the company manufactured the 4.5-liter gasoline V8 Hyundai G8AB engine, which was installed in either a Centennial limousine or the redesigned first-generation Equus. With distributed fuel injection, this motor was merely an adaptation of the Mitsubishi 8A80.

G8AA engines are also part of the Omega family.

Disadvantages of the Hyundai G8AB engine
Although this unit is fully dependable and resource-efficient, its fuel consumption is excessive;
Catalysts can break down after just 100,000 kilometers and cannot withstand poor gasoline;
