The 224DT, 276DT, 306DT, 368DT, and 448DT engines are jointly developed with Ford.

Disadvantages of the Land Rover 224DT engine
The camshaft on the drive side of the high-pressure fuel pump was destroyed on the engines from the initial years of production;
When the PCV valve fails, the crankcase ventilation frequently starts to drive oil; if the lubricant is chosen incorrectly, it can turn the liners at low mileage;
Additionally, these engines are well-known for frequent oil leaks along the sump seals; fuel equipment, particulate filters, and EGR are the other issues.
