Engine Mercedes M256 E30

Since 2017, the company has assembled and installed the 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder Mercedes M256 engine on its most potent and costly models, including the S-Class, GLS-Class, and AMG GT. One version of the engine has an extra electric compressor in addition to one turbine.

Disadvantages of the M256 E30 engine

On the specialized forums, no design flaws have been found thus far.
Camtronic phase regulators failed on other engines in the modular series.
This engine has carbon buildup on the intake valves, just like all direct injection engines.
A particulate filter, which is unusual for gasoline engines, is also noteworthy.
