Only the fifth generation of well-known models like the Lancer and Mirage had the Mitsubishi 6A10 1.6-liter V6 gasoline engine, which was manufactured in Japan between 1991 and 1996. This power unit is regarded as one of the world’s smallest V6 automobile engines.

The engines 6A11, 6A12, 6A12TT, 6A13, and 6A13TT are also part of the 6A1 family.
The engine was mounted on:
- Mitsubishi Lancer CB in 1991 – 1996;
- Mitsubishi Mirage CB in 1991 – 1994.

Disadvantages of the Mitsubishi 6A10 engine
The engine compartment’s dense layout makes this engine difficult to maintain;
Hydraulic lifters rapidly fail and start to knock due to bad oil; the timing belt can break the previously recommended 90,000 km, and it is difficult to replace it;
Heat exchanger corrosion and leaks are caused by low-quality or outdated antifreeze;
Keep an eye on the oil level because these units’ liners rotate frequently.
