Engine Nissan MR20DD

The Qashqai and X-trail mid-size crossovers, as well as the Serena minibus, are equipped with the 2.0-liter Nissan MR20DD engine, which has been manufactured at the company’s Japanese facility since 2010. A hybrid power plant frequently uses this gasoline unit. It first appeared in Renault’s lineup in 2016 as the M5R, a Koleos II with 150 PS (110 kW; 148 hp).

Disadvantages of the MR20DD engine

Tightening the bolts and candles requires caution because the cylinder head cracks easily in this area;
This engine cokes rather quickly, just like all direct injection units;
The timing chain frequently produces noise near 150,000 km, which suggests that it is stretching;
The engine speed floats at idle due to the throttle valve contamination;
Nearly all owners encounter an oil burner after 200,000 kilometers of use.
