Only two of the most well-known Astra and Vectra models were equipped with the 1.8-liter Opel X18XE engine, which was manufactured at a German facility between 1995 and 2000. This power unit is basically a scaled-down version of the well-known X20XEV motor.

X12XE, X14XE, X16XEL, X16SZR, X18XE, and X18XE1 are all part of the X10 line.
The engine was mounted on:
- Opel Astra F (T92) in 1996 – 2000;
- Opel Vectra B (J96) in 1995 – 1999.

Disadvantages of the X18XE engine
This engine is regarded as dependable, and all of its issues are easily and affordably resolved; the crankcase ventilation system and idle speed control must be cleaned to prevent floating speed;
The exhaust manifold frequently cracks, making welding useless and necessitating the purchase of a new one;
The camshaft position sensor is a weak point in the electrical component.
The timing belt only travels 60,000 kilometers, and the valves always bend when it breaks.
