Engine Opel C24NE

From 1988 to 1995, the company produced the 2.4-liter Opel C24NE or LU6 engine, which was fitted to the company’s biggest models, including the Frontera SUV and Omega. Since this power unit was developed using the outdated 1.6N engine, it has nothing to do with the C20NE.

Disadvantages of the C24NE engine

This engine has no noticeable flaws and is incredibly durable;
The only things that qualify as frequent are exhaust manifold gasket burnout and lubrication leaks;
Hydraulic lifters frequently fail and start to knock due to low-quality oil; on specialized forums, people occasionally complain about oil getting into the cooling system; the timing chain here is stretched and needs to be replaced at a run of approximately 300 thousand kilometers.
