The 1.6-liter Peugeot EP6CDTM or 5FM THP 163 engine was manufactured between 2011 and 2017 and was fitted to a number of the company’s well-known models, including the 308, 508, DS4, and DS5. A 150 horsepower version of this engine with the 5FE or EP6CDTMD index was available in some markets.

Disadvantages of the EP6CDTM engine
The direct injection system, particularly the injection pump, is responsible for the majority of these issues.
An unreliable timing chain, which typically has a resource of less than 100,000 km, comes in second.
These engines are also well-known for their oil burn and intake and supply pipe coking.
This engine’s turbine fails very quickly due to a lack of lubrication.
The thermostat, water pump, and oil pump are additional motor weak points.
