From 2007 to 2013, the Mitsubishi Outlander crossover and its derivatives, including the Peugeot 4007 and Citroen C-Crosser, were equipped with the 2.2-liter Peugeot DW12MTED4 or DW12M diesel engine. There were two versions of this power unit: 4HN for Euro 4 and 4HK for Euro 5.
DW12TED4, DW12BTED4, DW12CTED4, DW12MTED4, and DW12UTED are all part of the DW12 line.
The engine was mounted on:
- Peugeot 4007 I (I3) in 2007 – 2012;
- Citroen C-Crosser I (EP) in 2007 – 2013;
- Mitsubishi Outlander 2 (CW) in 2007 – 2012.

Disadvantages of the DW12MTED4 engine
The primary issues stem from the fuel filter replacement schedule violations;
Low-quality diesel fuel cannot be tolerated by contemporary fuel equipment with piezo injectors;
Underblowing or overblowing the turbine is the cause of the majority of panel errors;
Frequent particulate filter clogging can cause a lot of problems for the owner.
