From 2009 to 2013, the German company assembled the 4.8-liter Porsche M48.70 turbo engine and fitted it to the first-generation Panamera’s pre-styling modification in the rear of the 970. This unit has two boost levels: 500 horsepower for the Turbo version and 550 horsepower for the Turbo S.

M48.00, M48.50, M48.01, M48.51, and M48.70 are M48-line engines.

Disadvantages of the Porsche M48.70 engine
Although they are less frequent than their predecessor, seizures in the cylinders do happen;
This engine’s intake shafts’ faulty phase regulators are another issue;
Expansion tanks and coolant pipes frequently burst and leak;
The fuel pump in the tank and the injection pump of the direct injection system cause a lot of problems; a low resource for this engine distinguishes turbines, ignition coils, and a thermostat.
