Engine Toyota 5AR-FE

Since 2013, the company’s Chinese plant has been producing the 2.5-liter Toyota 5AR-FE engine, which is installed on the company’s front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive models, but only for the local auto market. This unit comes with the Dual VVT-i variable valve timing system in every version.

  • Toyota Harrier 3 (XU60) since 2013;
  • Toyota RAV4 4 (XA40) in 2013 – 2018.

Disadvantages of the 5AR-FE engine

This is among the most dependable engines available at the time;
is that there aren’t many resources available for this water pump;
The VVT-i system clutches’ loud crackling during cold start is a complaint from several owners.
