Disadvantages of the VW BDH engine

The erratic VP44 injection pump is the main source of owners’ issues;
Modern hollow camshafts frequently burst after 150–250 thousand kilometers;
Additionally, the turbine’s geometry mechanism frequently wedges, the viscous coupling bearing is short-lived, and low-quality oils can cause hydraulic lifters and pressure-reducing valves to seize. Grease also continuously seeps from the motor’s joints and beneath the valve covers.
