Engine Volkswagen BLS

Produced between 2005 and 2010, the 1.9-liter Volkswagen BLS 1.9 TDI diesel engine was used in numerous VAG models, but it is most well-known for the Passat B6. The presence of a particulate filter was the main difference between this diesel engine and its BKC and BXE type analogues.

Disadvantages of the VW BLS engine

These are very dependable devices, and issues only arise with high mileage.
Over time, the unit injectors become less tight due to the single bolt fastening.
The most common cause of thrust failures is a jammed turbine geometry.
A clogged particulate filter is frequently another factor contributing to unstable engine operation.
Wear of the hydraulic lifters and camshaft cams results from oil conservation.
