Engine Volkswagen AEE

From 1995 to 2000, the company’s factory assembled the 1.6-liter Volkswagen AEE engine, which was fitted to popular models like the Golf 3, Vento, Caddy 2, and Polo 3. Many people are familiar with this unit from the first generation of Skoda Octavias.

Disadvantages of the VW AEE engine

An unreliable ignition system is the main source of issues for owners.
Here, in addition to distributor malfunctions, etc., the wiring frequently just rots.
Engine control units that are poorly located frequently malfunction.
A dirty throttle or idle speed controller is typically the cause of floating engine speeds.
The thermostat and antifreeze temperature sensor need to be changed on a regular basis.
