The 1.6-liter 16-valve Volvo D4164T, also known as the 1.6 D engine, was manufactured between 2005 and 2010 and was fitted on popular Swedish models like the C30, S40, S80, V50, and V70. The Peugeot DV6TED4 diesel engine comes in a variety of power units.

D4162T is another part of the PSA diesel line.

Disadvantages of the D4164T engine
Camshaft cams on engines built in the early years of production rapidly deteriorated;
Additionally, the timing phases were frequently affected by the chain between the camshafts being extended;
The turbine frequently fails, typically as a result of an oil filter blockage;
Here, weak refractory washers beneath the nozzles are the cause of carbon formation.
The remaining issues are related to particulate filter and EGR valve contamination.
