Engine Peugeot EP6CDTR

Produced from 2013 to 2018, the 1.6-liter Peugeot EP6CDTR or 5FG THP 270 engine was characterized by polymer liners, a connecting rod and piston group, and a reinforced block. Only the RCZ R coupe had the unit installed; the 308 GTI 270 had a comparable EP6FDTR.

Disadvantages of the EP6CDTR engine

There is very little information available about this extremely uncommon sports turbo engine.
First and foremost, it is important to keep an eye on the timing chain’s condition because its resources are quite limited.
The unit is also well-known for its oil supply pipes, coking of the intake, and oil burner.
This engine’s turbine rapidly fails due to a lack of lubrication.
Here, the direct injection system’s injection pump, water pump, and thermostat are merely consumables.
