From 2004 to 2010, a number of well-known concern models, such as the 407 or 607, were equipped with the 2.7-liter Peugeot DT17TED4 or UHZ diesel engine, which was developed in collaboration with Ford. A 190 horsepower DT17 with a single turbine was modified for use in Ford and Land Rover vehicles.

DT17TED4 and DT20C are diesels in the DT family.
The engine was mounted on:
- Peugeot 407 I (D2) in 2004 – 2010;
- Peugeot 607 I (Z8/Z9) in 2005 – 2010;
- Citroen C5 II (X7) in 2008 – 2009;
- Citroen C6 I (X6) in 2005 – 2009.

Disadvantages of the DT17TED4 engine
The thermostat housing frequently ruptures at the seam, causing the engine to overheat right away;
Fuel quality is required by the CR Siemens fuel system’s piezo injectors;
The chains between the camshafts are frequently stretched after 150,000 kilometers of operation;
The system’s lubricating pressure decreases as the oil pump gradually runs out of fuel;
Oil starvation soon causes the crankshaft to break and the liners to crank.
