Only the Peugeot 605 and Citroen XM were equipped with the 2.1-liter Peugeot XUD11A or P9A diesel engine, which was manufactured between 1990 and 1997. Compared to its turbocharged counterparts, this unit is much less common.

XUD7, XUD7TE, XUD9, XUD9SD, XUD9TE, XUD11A, and XUD11ATE are all part of the XUD series.
The engine was mounted on:
- Peugeot 605 I (Y30) in 1991 – 1993;
- Citroen XM in 1990 – 1997.

Disadvantages of the XUD11A engine
With a resource of less than 500,000 kilometers, this diesel engine is extremely dependable and nearly omnivorous.
Owners face numerous issues due to the expansion tank’s low location;
The motor overheats and bursts through the gasket at even the smallest drop in antifreeze;
Because the Lucas injection pump is hard to fix, change the fuel filter more frequently;
This filter needs to be replaced carefully because the glass is easily broken;
Hydraulic lifters can travel up to 100,000 kilometers but cannot withstand cheap oil;
Cases of fore-chamber loss on runs longer than 300–400 thousand kilometers are described by the network.
