Disadvantages of the B5254T3 engine

Owners typically complain about phase control system malfunctions on specialized forums;
These engines also use oil because of clogged crankcase ventilation;
Leaking front camshaft oil seals are another common engine issue; the timing belt may not last the recommended 120,000 kilometers, and when it breaks, the valves bend; and the pump, fuel pump, and engine support frequently need to be replaced after 100,000 kilometers of operation.
