Engine Toyota 1UR-FE

In 2006, the 4.6-liter Toyota 1UR-FE engine was released as a powertrain for SUVs, full-size pickups, and executive models intended for emerging markets. The power system is where it differs most from 1UR-FSE: distributed injection rather than direct.

Disadvantages of the 1UR-FE engine

Oil consumption is moderate for some owners;
The timing chain may abruptly loosen as a result of a hydraulic tensioner failure; the water pump begins to leak on runs up to 100,000 kilometers;
The ETCS-i electronic throttle system occasionally malfunctions; piston rings are a result of urban operation; there was an official recall in 2010 to replace the valve springs;
This powertrain’s overall dependability is significantly higher than average.
