In 2007, Toyota debuted its 5.0-liter 2UR-FSE gasoline engine as a component of the second-generation Lexus Hybrid System. Additionally intriguing is the engine’s combined fuel injection system, which combines the traditional distributed MPI with the direct D4-S.

The engines in the UR family are 1URFE, 1URFSE, 2URGSE, 2URFSE, and 3URFE.
The engine was mounted on:
- Toyota Century G60 since 2017;
- Lexus LS 600h XF40 in 2007 – 2017.

Disadvantages of the 2UR-FSE engine
Many owners express dissatisfaction regarding oil consumption as a result of rings;
The chain tensioner and water pump have a finite lifespan;
The ETCS-i electronic throttle system occasionally has issues, but other than that, it is incredibly reliable.
