Disadvantages of the Mitsubishi 4G93 engine

The direct fuel injection system’s frequent vagaries are well-known for GDi modifications;
Rapid hydraulic lifter failure is an issue with all motor versions; an unclean idle speed controller causes the engine to stall on its own;
An oil burn typically starts when rings appear on runs longer than 150,000 kilometers; if the oil level is missed, there is a very high chance that the liners will turn.
